This Prosperity Partnership is delivering co-created research projects which are not only of scientific novelty, but which can also be applied to solve business-critical challenges within GSK, and be of potential direct benefit to the wider pharmaceutical industry. The programme of research comprises four themes, spanning the drug discovery continuum from discovery to manufacturing, and is underpinned by the twin paradigms of applying data-driven approaches and embedding sustainable methods across all themes.

Four key principles underpin our research activity:

  1. Establish greater integration across the whole of the drug discovery, development, and
manufacturing paradigm by delivering inter-connected projects to drive innovation, such that the transfer of distinct techniques and conceptual approaches between these areas will enable their connection in new and more efficient ways.

  1. Across every workstream, our ambition is to engineer a step change in the use of Artificial
Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), modelling, and related computational techniques.

  1. Apply green and sustainable approaches across the drug discovery-development continuum, with a greater prioritisation in the discovery phase.

  1. By building on successful research and training programmes with the UoS and UoN, we aim to deliver cohorts of future research leaders in industry and academia.
